Candy Corn Cupcakes
Cupcakes, you can't do a series blog and not make cupcakes to fit the theme, especially if it is a holiday themed series. I of course found this idea on Pinterest (where most of my brilliant ideas come from) last year and have been wanting to make them for the Halloween season since I seen them and today was the perfect day! My daughter had been sick and was admitted into the hospital last week for 3 days. She was able to stay out of school today so I figured this would be great for us to do and to keep her busy.
Here's what you will need:
- your favorite cake mix (yellow or white)
& all the ingredients needed to mix.
- food coloring yellow and orange
- cupcake liners
Mix up the cake mix as directed on the back of the box. Separate half the mixture into another bowl, add yellow food coloring to one and orange to the other, until desired color. Add cupcake liners to cupcake pans, add about 1/4 orange cake mix and 1/4 yellow to the pans, to fill the liner half way full for baking. Bake as directed.
Add icing to a piping back if you have one or to a ziplock bag and ice the too of the cupcake with only a little bit of white icing, and there you have Candy Corn Cupcakes.
You can even add a piece of Candy Corn on top for added decoration.
I also got the cake pop maker out and made a couple of just regular cake balls. The kids love these cause there just little popable cupcakes :) ENJOY
