{Amish Proverbs} Some People Work Hard....

At the beginning of each month I like to explain why I write my series, for my new readers that may not know, and think why is this southern girl talking about the Amish- well let me just say I am fascinated by their lifestyle and living especially in such a technology world. I mean they don't even know any thing about iPhone/iPod/iPad anything. I couldn't imagine living their lifestyle but I am fascinated by it. I especially love their Proverbs, which for many of us have become quotes we all love. Each Sunday (Sometimes Monday, if it's been a particularly busy weekend) I like to share a proverb that fits something in my life, is motivational for the week, or I just like.  Hope you all have a great week, it's the first week of February already!

Super Bowl Tears

Well a lot of tears were shed in this house during the Super Bowl and I'm not talking about because the Seahawks lost. The commercials this year tugged at the heart this year. There were commercials on being a dad which we're for cars and Dove Men+ Care products- which I cried during both. There were commercials about travel, specifically the one from Carnival talking Back to Sea and that's where we come from (I always knew I was a mermaid once) and if you didn't know I absolutely love everything about the sun, sand, sea, and travel. There of course was the #LikeAGirl from Always which I talked about earlier this year that always makes me cry- EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch it. The other car commercial with the men and women that are 100 years old and know all the secrets to life, which I again cried. The #Empowering Commercials from Microsoft showing us to never give up, and I can't forget the adorable puppy commercial from Budweiser. (Watch my Top Favorites Below)

Usually Super Bowl commercials are extreme, beer commercials, and lets not even discuss the previous years GoDaddy Commercials. I must say that this year the commercials were tasteful, empowering, inspirational, uplifting, and positive (for the most part). If my children cared about Football it would have been a great game for them to watch because I wouldn't have to be worried about all the questions that come with normally watching the games with 10 years and younger children. It's nice to see the NFL is trying to change their image and focusing on the things important in life. (Minus the fighting at the end of the game... how did you explain that one to the kids?)

Oh, and we can't forget all the new movies we are now waiting to see:

{Southern Sunday Supper} - Superbowl Foods

If you haven't heard the Superbowl is today- I meant to have this post ready to go out first thing this morning but I was surprised by my husband with a weekend on the beach to celebrate 13 years of being together (time sure flies when your in love). Since this post didn't go out and I had no time to write it I'm just going to share what is for our Sunday Supper and share a few links of my favorite football foods. If your looking for a last minute idea, well here they are.

{Amish Proverbs} Marriage maybe Made in Heaven....

With the long weekend, I am a day late with this weeks Amish Proverb. I always enjoy long weekends especially with the family. It's nice to have that extra day to relax, clean up, or go on an extra outing. We didn't do much with our extra day just getting ready for the week and relaxing. My daughter didn't even want to go to dance today. I figured this would be probably her one and only opportunity to miss because from now till May it is recital time, so I let her enjoy her day.

This weeks proverb talks about marriage. Anyone who is married knows that marriage takes work, time, comprise, compassion, and work.... Yes, I already said that but that is the key to marriage.

{Amish Proverbs} My Job is to Take Care of the Possible.

Last year sometime I wrote about my interest in the Amish. I don't know what it is but their living is very interesting to me, It always has been. I've been to  "Amish Country" several times in my childhood. My Aunt is from Ohio we would travel to Ohio to see her family and travel through Amish Country. We would stop at their little store, I only remember their clothes and the cheese. I've also become very interested in their proverbs. With anything there are different interpretations of things but  just like with any of the proverbs from our bibles or quotes we love they stop us and make us think about things a little differently and that's what many of their proverbs do to me. Each week I want to share a proverb and what it is meaning to me that week. Just something fun that I want to do for a little while. Put a little positive thinking out into the world before the week begins.
